Canon Update & Character Death
Canon Update:
Welcome to our permission's post for canon updating characters! A canon update is where you change the character's canon point during the course of the game and can be done for a multitude of reasons. Simply fill out the canon update request form and the mods will reply with whether it is approved or rejected.
ღ Canon Updates will be processed as soon as possible.
The mods will review the canon updates as they come in and will usually be accepted/rejected within two days.
ღ Characters undergoing canon updates will be in a potion-induced sleep for a minimum of 24 hours.
Since characters cannot leave the game world, since there are no portals, canon updates can be "bought" as a potion. The potion, once drunk, will cause a deep sleep with hallucinogenic dreams that will serve as the update. Characters in this sleep cannot be woken up prior to the 24 hour limit because it's not a curse: it's a chance to find themselves, in a way. In some cases, the potions can cause physical growth as well (for those of you looking towards drastic canon updating).
ღ Canon Updating through Death.
This is definitely allowed! Instead of a potion, the same sort of hallucination will occur during the "death", while the character is in their cursed sleep.
ღ Please put consideration into your canon updates.
Muns who do not reply thoughtfully to the request form may have their canon update rejected.
Character Death:
Want to kill your character off? Well, why not! Deaths are bound to happen, and we all know how much we like drama. Just fill out the following form and wait for the mod approval on it.
ღ Are there any consequences to dying more than once?
Yes! For the first death, a character must simply journey through the forest to find the deceased and kiss them awake again.
For the second and third deaths, another character must fight a creature on your behalf.
For any subsequent deaths that follow, someone must make a deal on your behalf with Fox.
Remember, if nobody will help your character out, Fox will wake your character and wrangle a deal out of them for their life. Please let us know if this is what will happen.

Character Name: Edward Kenway
Canon: Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag
Current Canon Point: Prior to meeting Jenny in the Epilogue
Desired Canon Point: When Edward accepts the pardons from Robert Walpole and decides to set up office in London for his Assassin business
Character Changes: The question here is how much does Edward change in a couple months' time? Actually, quite a bit. His life changes quite radically when he comes face-to-face with Jenny. His life is really not even about himself anymore, not the selfish tendencies he's picked up or his world-view being about him. Of course, prior to Jenny and post-Mary's death, he had already been working to fix himself, but this is different. This is his daughter, and he has to do right by her. He renounces his piracy just like that.
However, he's not totally a reformed man. Upon returning to Bristol, he goes to exact his revenge against the Templars who had started this, including his father-in-law. Vengeance is the taste he has to finally put it behind him and move on as both a father and an Assassin.
When he's confronted by Robert Walpole, he has the choice of either being shot or of giving up. He decides to take the offered pardons and take up Walpole's offers to move to London because that's the right decision to make. Not just for him, but for Jenny and for his men on the Jackdaw. He's learned that not everything is about him, and that there are people who have been reliant on him. He's not going to continue to fail them.

Don't forget to have someone kiss him awake again, or he'll have to make a deal with Fox.

Character Name: Hawke
Canon: Dragon Age II
Current Canon Point: Between Acts II and III
Desired Canon Point: Post Act III, aka End Of Game
Character Changes: The climax of Hawke's story is literally explosive, and every decision he is forced to make doesn't seem to have any positive effect on the outcome of anything. When the Knight Commander of Kirkwall declares the Right of Annulment on the Circle, claiming that the mages there are out of control (which they objectively were not), Anders, one of Hawke's companions, lets her know this is the final straw in her reign of oppressive tyranny against innocent mages, and blows up the Kirkwall Chantry. While this may not have been the best move, since the Knight Commander seemed to see it as proof that she was right, it did what it was designed to and forced the hand of everyone else. With the Grand Cleric dead and no longer able to maintain her so-called neutrality, everyone else was forced to choose a side and to act accordingly.
As the Champion of Kirkwall, Hawke was in a position of considerable influence, and both the Knight Commander and the First Enchanter demanded he choose their side in the upcoming battle.
From this point on, any decision Hawke made had such a minute effect on the final outcome of the situation, none of his choices really mattered all that much in the grand scheme of things.
As a mage himself, he chose to side with the mages, which naturally angered the Knight Commander.
As Anders' friend, he chose, for a number of reasons, not to kill the man, even though both Anders and one of his other friends, Sebastian, urged him to. If Anders really wanted to keep helping mages, he needed to be alive in order to do so now that he's basically sealed the fate of the Kirkwall Circle; There's going to be fighting and Hawke still needs a healbot, since his own healing spells are crap; he's sort of romantically involved with the man so there's that whole hang-up; death is kind of a shitty punishment for a man with a conscience - letting said man's conscience do the punishing is much more effective, etc. In choosing to allow Anders to live, Hawke gained the enmity of his until-now companion Sebastian.
His attempts to protect the Circle mages were pointless, as they were all slaughtered despite his support, and the First Enchanter was actually a secret blood mage and abomination all along. He turned on Hawke, so Hawke wound up killing him. And then it turned out that the Knight Commander had been driven insane by a lyrium idol, so he had to kill her before she killed him, too.
By that time it seemed as though most of Kirkwall was on fire, soooooo a strategic retreat into the wilderness seemed prudent. Which is where Hawke's story more or less ends. At least for that game.
What all of this comes down to for Hawke's personality iiiis...actually not a lot of outward changes. He still keeps his ~feelings~ bottled tightly inside under a thick, gooey layer of sass, which is all most people ever see. Those closest to him in BR will probably notice he seems a lot more reserved and thoughtful than before. He'll be beating himself up internally for some time to come. Maybe if he'd done this or that differently, things might not have gone to such shit. Along with his new brooding powers, he'll be trying to seclude himself for a while as he won't be in the mood for company, and also as he won't expect he would make very good company for others. He'll eventually realize he feels better when there's someone around to distract him from his thoughts, so the whole reclusive thing won't last for very long.
Overall, though, he's a pretty resilient guy. Despite adding a whole bunch of new horrors to his arsenal of nightmares, as long as he's got people around him who he cares about and who care about him, he'll eventually recover his usual outward charm and return to business as usual. (Though, possibly with more lonely brooding.) He hasn't spent three decades perfecting his sass game for nothing, after all!

Don't forget to have someone kiss him awake after the minimum amount of time has passed, or he'll have to make a deal with Fox.
