Cloud's not very good with words, but he often goes around the village giving extra wood he's chopped or helping with repairs or really anything that requires heavy lifting to villagers who need it, usually without having been asked. He also patrols a stretch of road from the village towards the mountains or the bit of forest closest to the village for things like bandits, goblins, wolves and the like.
